The Best Physical Activities to do as a Family
There’s no doubting the fact that children are a product of their environment and their physical health is no exception. As parents and guardians, it’s our job to encourage a healthy lifestyle and this includes exercise and physical activity. We’ve put together a list of the best physical activities to do together as a family!
Walk the dog
Our furry friends are always up for a walk or run so they make the best exercise buddies! Taking the dog for a walk after school or even after dinner is a great way to get in your daily physical activity. Change up the routes each day to keep things exciting!
Go for a swim
Visiting the local pool is a fun way for parents and kids to stay active! You could even head down to the beach for a swim if you’re lucky enough to live near the coast. As the weather starts to warm up, there’s no better way to cool down than with a swim!
Jump on a bike
Bike riding is a super fun family activity. There’s nothing better than a scenic ride along a river, through a park or near the beach so next time the sun is out, hop on your bikes and go for a pedal! It’ll be a great bonding session for the whole family!
Get everyone involved in the household chores
It might not seem like it but you definitely work up a sweat doing housework. Next time the grass needs moving, the floor needs vacuuming or the gardening needs doing, get the whole family involved! If the kids need a bit of extra encouragement, you can always give them a bit of pocket money for helping out.
Have a boogie!
This one is by far the most fun activity on the list! If your family loves to have a sing-a-long in the car, we can guarantee you’ll love to have a dance party at home! All you have to do is put on some catchy music and get boogying. Dancing is a great cardio workout after all!
We hope the above activities inspire you to get active as a family and soak up the sunshine when it appears over the coming months! And remember, no matter what the exercise, be sure to make it fun. Enjoy!
