Snacks to Pack on The Go

Can your kids just snack and snack and snack? Our little ones are constantly growing so making sure we’re putting nutritious foods into their body is super important. Say goodbye to nasty snacks and hello to healthy habits with our snack ideas below! These snacks are great to pack on the go and will keep your kids (and their tummies) happy!

 

Popcorn

Popcorn doesn’t just have to be a treat at the movies. If you’re making popcorn at home, it’s actually very healthy! Keep it plain and the popcorn becomes a great alternative to chips or biscuits. A dusting of cinnamon or a pinch of salt on top could never hurt though!

 

Fruit salad

You can’t go past a classic fruit salad when it comes to healthy snack ideas! With so many yummy fruits to choose from, the hard part is deciding which ones to add. One of our go-to fruit salads includes the following; strawberries, kiwi fruit, grapes, watermelon, mango and rockmelon.

 

Veggie sticks

Veggie sticks are one of the easiest and healthiest snacks out there – they’re perfect for the lunch box or as an afternoon snack! Our favourite veggies to use are celery, carrot, cucumber and capsicum. For an extra treat, pair the sticks with your child’s favourite dip; hummus, french onion, spinach…so many options!

 

Apple and nut butter

Have you ever tried apple with nut butter? You’ll wonder why you hadn’t tried it earlier – it is delicious! We love almond butter and peanut butter but there’s many other nut butters out there to try! Simply cut up an apple, spoon some nut butter into a container and dip the apple into the nut butter – yummo! Banana, dates and celery also taste scrumptious with nut butter so go nuts (pun intended!)

 

Rice cakes with toppings

Some of our favourite toppings include; ham and cheese, hummus and cucumber, avocado and tomato, and ricotta and berries. Not only are these delicious – they’re pretty fun to decorate too!
